How did the airplane change society in the 20's and what impact did Lindbergh's flight across the Atlantic have on society?
The Wright Brothers invented the airplane in 1903, but at first flying wasn't as much of a hype as other inventions because of how dangerous it was. But throughout the years, the airplane was able to become a great success in the 1920s and even gained the ranking of being one of the most important inventions of the 1920s. The Federal Government discovered that the planes could be used to deliver mail, or Air-Mail. Instead of it taking a week to deliver a letter, it would now only take a few days. After delivering mail, the idea of 'delivering people' caught on quickly and soon prices were dropping for flying and middle class people, along with upper class/rich could afford flying from placeto place.
